About the teacher
Katherine Richardson has been teaching piano for 30 years and has taught in Minneapolis, MN, Livonia, MI and Okemos, MI. She started taking lessons at age 7 and got her music training at the College of St. Catherine in St. Paul, MN, where she received a certificate in piano pedagogy. She also attended Michigan State University, where she earned of Bachelor of Science degree in psychology. In addition to piano teaching, she has participated in music ministry, both as an accompanist and as an organist, as well as accompanying high school choirs. She is a member of the Music Teachers National Association, Michigan Music Teachers Association and Capital Area Music Teachers Association, and also the National Federation of Music Clubs. She served as president of the Capital Area Music Teachers Association from 2003-2005 and in 2008, was honored as teacher of the year for that organization.

About the Studio
- Students are scheduled for 33 lessons per year; 29 private lessons and 4 group lessons. Private lessons are 45 minutes long and group lessons last one hour.
- Each lesson includes: repertoire, music theory, technique, ear training and sight-reading.
- Lesson tuition is charged by the month and due the first lesson of each month. Monthly statements and newsletters are sent to each family.
- A music lending library is available to all students. New materials will be provided and billed monthly.
